Indonesia has just registered a trade deficit, its exports having fallen while its imports increased, specially for food products and fruits.
According to BPS, the statistical agency, the country recorded in November a deficit of $ 1.33 billion for its trade balance. Trade tensions between major countries have had the effect of slowing world trade and have resulted in lower demand for Indonesian products.
Agricultural exports fell by 1.55% but imports of consumer goods and especially food and fruit increased by 16.13%.
For some analysts, these November trade balance results suggest solid domestic demand.
