Decrease of strawberries production causes increase of prices.
Bad weather of the spring, the rains and floods which touched Poland last month affects strawberries production.
Strawberries production is in decrease and could reach approximately 150.000 tons, which is a decline of 45.000 tons compared to 2009.
This lack of production could provoke problems to the processing factories. Cost of strawberries sold for the freezing is now of 2,04 zloty by kilo while the 2009 price was 1,4 zloty.
Specialists consider that the demand strongly increased because of economic situation improvement.
Strawberries prices can again rise with the small expected production. Hungary and Serbia production could make up deficit of the Polish production.
