EU countries received 94.2% of Spanish exports of Fruits & Vegetables.
According to data from the Customs Service and processed by FEPEX, Spanish exports of Fresh Fruits & Vegetables went mainly to EU countries. Shares of non-EU European markets and non-European third countries remain weak.
EU countries received 94.2% of Spain's fresh fruit and vegetable exports, up to 7.3 million tonnes in July. European non-EU countries received 2.3% or 170 144 tonnes and non-European third countries received 3.5% or 275 842 tonnes.
Sales to EU countries up to July increased by 2% compared to the same months of 2016. The markets showing progression are Germany (+ 3%) with 2 million tonnes and Italy ( + 28%) with 506,472 tonnes.
Sales outside Europe grew by 11%, for a total of 275,842 tonnes. The first recipients are Morocco (+ 7%) with 47,769 tonnes, Brazil (+ 7%), Brazil with 43,426 tonnes, the United Arab Emirates (+ 4%) with 33,397 tonnes, Saudi Arabia (+ 46%), 30,291 tonnes, Chile (+ 64%) with 24,668 tonnes and China (+ 52%) with 18,121 tonnes
