Australia expects export growth 2021-22

Forecasts are positive for Australian fruit and vegetable exports, which should increase by +8% in value.

 

ABARES (Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences) in its quarterly report predicts that fruit and vegetable exports for 2021-22 will grow by 8% in value to reach 2.9 billion AUD (2.1 billion USD).

 

According to ABARES, the favorable conditions for production and product quality lead to an increase in exports, particularly for cherries, macadamia nuts, stone fruits, table grapes, avocados, berries and citrus fruits.

 

However, air and sea freight costs and shortages of refrigerated containers could cause some slowdown in exports.
