Ethy-Gen® II Ripening Concentrate receives approval for use in banana ripening in the Netherlands
Ethy-Gen® II Ripening Concentrate, an ethylene-based product developed by Catalytic Generators’, was approved by the Dutch Board for the Authorisation of Plant Protection Products and Biocides (Ctgb) for use in banana ripening in the Netherlands.
Today, many countries do not regulate ethylene products for fruit ripening as a plant protection product, but there are still some countries which require approval.
Catalytic Generators has expanded again the list of countries where its’ ripening products are authorized by passing a detailed approval process through the Ctgb.
Ethylene produced by Ethy-Gen® II Ripening Concentrate is unique in its kind because it has compiled the strict standards of the UK-CRD, US-EPA, and now the Ctgb.
Greg Akins, President & CEO of Catalytic Generators, stated that the company guarantees that Ethy-Gen® II Concentrate passes necessary governmental regulations to bring their customers the highest level of assurance when ripening fresh products.
Ethylene doesn't have odor and it is impossible to know if it is present in banana ripening rooms, without measuring the level.
Ethy-Gen® II Ripening Concentrate has a sweet smell which makes the customer know that it is working in the ripening room. The concentrate contains only pure ingredients.
The ripening concentrate is available for purchase in the Netherlands via their distributor, Fresh Produce Instruments.
They also offer Easy-Ripe® ethylene generators for immediate shipping.
According to Akins, approval of Ethy-Gen® II Concentrate for banana ripening in the Netherlands will make the work of Dutch banana ripeners more effective. Catalytic Generators is grateful to the Ctgb for their efforts in approving Ethy-Gen® II and their commitment to guaranteeing that plant protection products are secure.
