AKSUN: New packing facilities to open in 2017
Aksun, the Turkish exporter of citrus and figs has registered a very dynamic growth - +190% - in citrus demand in comparison with last year. Aksun ships 12.000 tons of lemons per year : approx 5000 containers.
Met in Hong-Kong, Mr. Akin Soyleyen, Coordinator International Trade explains:
“Asia is a very big market for us in citrus. This market represents 35% of our exports and shows a very dynamic trend. This is certainly the result of our efforts to strengthen our presence in Asia.”
Concerning the next citrus season, all indicators are in green.
Akin adds:
“Next season will start around September 25th for Turkish citrus. The demand is high and Turkish origin benefits from an exclusive offer at the beginning of the season. Crop is looking good, especially for lemons. We do not expect any supply issues. As for grapefruit, the anticipated volume is a little less than last year, but there should not be any problem.
