In France, leek production for the 2023-24 season is expected to record much higher yields than in the previous season.
A publication by Agreste Conjoncture, an agency of the French Ministry of Agriculture, announces that French leek production for 2023-24 (May 2023 to April 2024), based on data as at 1 January 2024, is estimated at 170,429 tonnes.
This is 10% up on the previous season and 1% up on the five-year average.
For the 2023-24 season, the area planted with leeks will be 5,414 hectares, up 1% on the previous season and down 3% on the average for the last 5 seasons.
