In Morocco, the 2021/22 season saw a record volume of citrus exports. Since then, however, the volume of citrus exports has fallen considerably.
Local media report that the volume of citrus exports should reach 500,000 tonnes for the 2023/24 season. This represents an increase of 10% on the previous season.
In the 2022/23 season, only 450,000 tonnes of citrus fruit were exported, a far cry from the record 766,500 tonnes in the 2021/22 season. In recent years, Moroccan citrus production has fluctuated between 1.7 and 2.7 million tonnes.
