The Port of Hamburg records a decrease in its activity in Q1

The Port Authority of Hamburg (Germany) revealed its data on its 1st quarter 2016 down compared to 2015.
The port of Hamburg had a total of 34,8 millions tonnes in Q1 2016, a decrease of 2,5% compared to the 1st quarter of last year. The Port has handled 137,8 millions tonnes in 2015.
Regarding this Q1, bulk volumes reached 11,5 millions tonnes (-1,9%) and freight volumes 23,3 millions tonnes (-2,7%). The container traffic 2,2 millions TEU, a decline of 3,4%.
This decline reflect the slowdown with the 3 major trading partners: China (-8,0%), Singapore (-7,6%) and Russia (-4,9%). Other partners show growing rates as Finland (+11,1%), USA (+14,2%), Malaysia (+6,4%), UK (+31,8%), India (+4,1%). But the dynamism with these partners could not fulfill the delay with those of the TOP 3.
