The merger project of Carrefour collapsed

The merger project of Carrefour in Brazil with CBD, local leader in distribution, partly owned by Casino, collapsed.

 
The current largest shareholder of the Brazilian brand, Abilio Diniz announced it was suspending its planned merger between Grupo Pao de Açucar (GPA) and the subsidiary of Carrefour in Brazil.

 
This decision would be motivated by the stop of support of the Brazilian authorities for the project.
