The food products sector, fresh and processed, knows a strong dynamic that materialized by the success of the exhibition México Alimentaria 2017. The show is positioned as one of the most important events of Latin America.
On this occasion, SAGARPA, the Ministry of Agriculture, recalled the importance of the agricultural and agro-industrial sector in the national economy. With a growth of about 12% per year of its exports. Mexico exported in 2015 for 26 billion USD, in 2016 for 29 billion, and in 2017 certainly 33 billion USD.
Mexico's trading partners are the United States, largely the No. 1 customer, followed by the European Union, Canada, Japan, China and the Persian Gulf countries. For these countries (Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar) Mexican exports in the first 8 months of 2017 jumped by 71% in value compared to the same period of 2016.
