Objective: to double mangoes exports

Expected doubling for Australian mango exports.

The Ministry of Agriculture wants to double the country's mango exports and will set up a plan over 3 years to achieve this goal. Australia produces about 40 000 tonnes of mangoes and exports only 4 000 to 5 000 tonnes. The doubling of this volume seems easily attainable .

AAMIA (Australian Mango Industry Association), the association of mango industry, points out the domestic supply of high quality fruit with unique flavors. These characteristics must be exploited to consumers by targetting markets such as China , South Korea and the United States.
