The United States is the No. 1 supplier to the European market for sweet potatoes.
In a number of European countries, the International Sweet Potato Week (April 1-13), is launching a campaign to raise consumer awareness of the product.
ASPMI's innitiative,(American Sweet Potato Marketing Institute) this campaign will run until April 13th. Information on sweet potato, recipes on how to use the product and tastings at various points of sale and supermarkets in Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Scandinavia.
ASPMI is established in North Carolina, the largest producing state of sweet potato in the United States. Bringing together producers, processors, exporters, the organization conducts generic promotions for sweet potato.
