Spanish Overseas Exports Rise 18%
Germany, France, and the United Kingdom continue to be the leading destinations for Spanish fruits and vegetables.
Spanish exports of fresh fruits and vegetables outside the European continent totaled 151,111 metric tons in the first half of 2026, an increase of 18% compared to the same period the previous year, with a value of 198.4 million euros, up 5%. Despite this positive trend, non-European markets continue to account for a very small share, representing only 2.3% of the total export volume and 1.7% of the value of Spanish foreign sales. Among non-EU countries, the United Kingdom remained the main destination for Spanish fruit and vegetable exports, with 717,444 metric tons sold, valued at 1,413 million euros. This represents a 3% decline in volume but a 2.1% increase in revenue.
Germany: Top Customer
The EU accounted for 84% of fruit and vegetable sales by volume in the first half of the year, with 5.5 million metric tons, and 82% of sales by value, which totaled 9,552 million euros. Germany consolidated its position as the leading buyer of Spanish fruits and vegetables, importing 1.9 million metric tons in the first half of 2026—0.9% more than in the same period the previous year. In value terms, sales totaled 3,474 million euros, representing a 6.3% increase, according to data from the Department of Customs and Special Taxes, processed by FEPEX.
