Grape exports in Chile until week 8 of 2024 totaled 20 million boxes. According to the projections of the Chilean Fruit Table Grape Committee, the season is expected to end with approximately 62 million boxes, with the United States being the largest recipient with 57% of the total volume, which would be equivalent to about 35 million boxes.
To date, Chile has exported 15 million boxes of table grapes to the United States. It is estimated that another 20 million will be shipped between weeks 9 and 17, with approximately 15 million distributed on the East Coast and 5 million on the West Coast. Weeks 11 and 12 have stood out as the busiest times for shipments.
During this season, the export of varieties such as Sweet Globe, Allison, Timco and Autumn Crisp has experienced significant growth. However, the Thompson Seedless variety has suffered a notable 52% drop in volume due to market conditions.
In relation to other export markets, Chile has allocated 11% of the total to the Far East, 8% to Latin America and 5% to Europe.
