Cucumber Prices Rise 14% Due to High Demand
While French cucumber production for 2026 is similar to that of 2025, at around 195,000 metric tons, average prices are 14% higher than in 2025.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture’s forecasts as of June 1, 2026, French cucumber production is estimated at 194,100 metric tons for the 2026 growing season, up 2,600 metric tons from 2025 (+1%).
The heatwave conditions of recent weeks have boosted consumption. Throughout the month of May, prices were 14% higher than those of the 2025 growing season and 21% higher than the 2021–2025 average for the same month.
