2014 is the Year of Bio in Morocco

AMABio celebrates 2014 as the year of Bio in Morocco with product promotion program, consumer awareness and various actions to develop the sector.

AMABio (Moroccan Association of Biological Production Industry) was born 3 years ago and now has about 80 members. This year AMABio was again present at international BioFach exhibition in Nuremberg. The Moroccan delegation was composed of 13 companies, including 3 fresh products (citrus, potatoes and seasoning plants) and 10 companies and cooperatives specialized in processed products.

The organic sector is booming, exports increased from 1895 tons (1998) to 12 500 tons (2013). Its development will continue. In February was held the first meeting of the National Committee of Bio. The legislation neccessary for regulatation, control and supervision is being adopted and should be completed this year.
