A giant picnic with Tuscan specialties

Piazza del Duomo in Florence (Tuscany) a gigantic picnic with Tuscan products is organized on the 13th July.

 

 

The operation is called "Pride Lampredotto" the name of a local specialty, a dish of tripe, often served between two slices of bread. The organizers state that the event is primarily festive and should be conducted in good humor. Just bring a typical dish of Tuscany!

 

 

This initiative is a citizens' protest to prevent the installation of a McDonald's on the Unesco site. Despite the prohibition of any restaurant that uses pre-cooked and frozen products in the historic area, the fast food brand filed a case for opening a new "concept".
