Mango exports could increase fourfold

Pakistan is the fourth largest producer of mangoes in the world and could increase exports.
According to an official of the Ministry of Agriculture, the country has the ability to quadruple exports of mangoes. To go from 125,000 tons currently shipped to 500,000 tons.
To achieve this objective, the ministry wants to encourage exporters. Installation of a Common Facility Center in export-producing areas is planned near the towns of Mirpurkhas, Rahimyar Khan, Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Multan, Karachi and Lahore.
4th largest producer of mangoes after China, India and Brazil, the major customers of Pakistan for mangoes are Europe, the Middle East and the Gulf countries.
