Shipments gain pace as stronger volumes and firmer prices lift early-season results.
Peru exported US$795.7 million worth of avocados between January and May 2026, with shipments reaching 406.5 million kilos, according to Agrodata. The average FOB price stood at US$1.96 per kilo.
May was the strongest month so far, with US$276.8 million in exports and 156.4 million kilos shipped. April also showed heavy movement, at US$247.4 million and 125.5 million kilos, confirming the sharp acceleration of the campaign after a quieter start to the year.
The Netherlands remained the main destination, with US$320 million in FOB value, followed by Spain at nearly US$150 million. Chile, the United Kingdom and China were also among the leading markets, while the United States, Japan and Russia showed smaller volumes in comparison.
The 2026 pace is running above the 2025 monthly average. Last year, Peru closed the avocado campaign with US$1.48 billion in exports, 823.7 million kilos shipped and an average price of US$1.80 per kilo.
