Export turnover grew across key destinations, including China and South Korea.
Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable exports reached $6.11 billion in the first nine months of 2025, up 8.3% from the same period last year. With steady growth, the sector is expected to hit its $8 billion export goal by year-end, according to local media.
Imports also rose, totalling $1.9 billion, an increase of 15.1% year-on-year. In September alone, import revenue reached $234 million, while the trade surplus for the month exceeded $1 billion, bringing the nine-month surplus to over $4.2 billion.
The strong results came as Vietnam improved quality control, streamlined export procedures, and diversified markets beyond traditional partners. Export turnover grew across key destinations, including China, South Korea, Japan, and Thailand.
Although shipments to China — which still accounts for 57.9% of total export value — fell 9.3%, sales to the US, Japan, and Netherlands saw sharp increases, highlighting Vietnam’s progress in market diversification.
