World avocado production increased by + 85.2% between 2008 and 2018, reaching 6.4 million tonnes in 2018. Volume increased at an average annual rate of + 5.3%, with a peak recorded in 2009 of + 13%.

 

 

 

Avocado exports in 2018 totaled 2.4 million tonnes, an increase of 23% over the previous year. In value terms, avocado exports totaled $ 5.6 billion in 2018.

 

 

 

Avocado consumption continues to grow, the pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017, with an increase of 29% over one year. During this year, the global avocado market hit a record $ 14.9 billion.
