Early frost hit production of lettuce (iceberg varieties, Romana, Baby), most of which are intended for export.
Early frosts in the region of Murcia.
Low temperatures, in some places up to -4 °, caused crop damage. According to the agricultural organization COAG most affected products are artichokes and lettuce.
The most affected areas are Campillo, La Hoya and some areas of Cartagena. Early frosts are typical of mid-December but professionals are concerned about the duration of this weather episode. If these low temperatures persist the next few days, the vegetable production will be severely affected.
