A new terminal that will allow faster and more efficient exports of fruits and vegetables.
Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, Kenya, will have a new cargo terminal for perishable goods, with an initial capacity of 80,000 tons / year, to be increased to 150,000 tons / year.
The German company ACUNIS, which is also in charge of the construction of the terminal for Ethiopian Airlines in Addis Ababa, has entrusted the planning and engineering of the site (9000 m2). The new terminal in Nairobi is expected to open in May.
The site will include warehouses, customs clearance areas, separate storage facilities for dry goods and perishable goods, cold stores. With these new facilities, fruit and vegetable shipments can be made faster and more efficiently.
