Carried out a few weeks ago, collections had made it possible to harvest 3,647 kg of fresh fruit and vegetables from companies on the SAINT CHARLES platform for distribution to nursing staff at Perpignan hospital. These operations have just been renewed.
The first 3 collections made it possible to distribute 3,647 kg of fresh fruit and vegetables in 1,062 baskets of 2.6 to 3.6 kg, on Wednesdays 08, 15 and 22 April, to the hospital in Perpignan. A few parcels had also been brought in for bulk distribution (orange fillets, salads, cherry tomatoes, round tomatoes, etc.).
In order to be able to continue providing support to the nursing staff, the companies of the platform renewed the operation on May 27 and June 10, with in particular seasonal fruits such as stone fruits (peaches, nectarines, apricots), melons and watermelons. More than 550 baskets were made thanks to the collection of more than 1.5 tonnes of fresh fruit and vegetables.
With this operation, 2,100 FFP2 masks were also donated by Saint-Charles Export to staff at Perpignan hospital. An essential equipment for the protection of these everyday heroes that the members of the group wanted to thank with this gesture.
It is with great humility that this donation of FFP2 masks, like this fruit and vegetable donation operation, was implemented by Saint-Charles Export and by SNIFL – Saint-Charles companies. These operations, made possible by the contribution of a multitude of companies, show the strength of the collective as the resilience of the managers and employees of the platform in the face of this crisis.
