Chile to export grapes to the US without fumigation under the Systems Approach

Last July, the US Federal Register announced the approval of a protocol that will allow Chile to export grapes without fumigation under the Systems Approach. This news has been received with enthusiasm by the Chilean fruit sector, according to local media.

 

Iván Marambio, president of Frutas de Chile, commented that this protocol will allow fresh grapes from the regions of Atacama, Coquimbo and part of Valparaíso to be exported to the United States without fumigation from the 2024-2025 season. Marambio underlined the importance of this measure for the competitiveness of Chilean grapes, highlighting the improvement in the quality of the product and the reduction in costs for producers and exporters.
