The Paraguayan harvest in Rincón de Soto (La Rioja, Spain) began on 19 June, bringing it forward by one week due to favourable weather conditions. The harvest will last until August.
A local farm owner commented that the first variety harvested, UFO-4, stands out for its size and sweetness, a product of the heat and recent rains. Although the rain can cause the fruit to crack, it has increased its sugar content.
For 2024, growers in the region are expecting an excellent season in terms of stone fruit volume.
