To maintain good health you need to consume 5 servings of Fruit & Vegetable a day (about 450 gr). Rich in vitamins, minerals and fiber, fruits & vegetables help prevent many problems (obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease).
The study published by "American Journal of Public Health" was conducted by scientists from the United Kingdom (University of Warwick) and Australia (University of Queensland) to attests a new virtue of Fruits & Vegetables. That make people happier.
The study involved 12 385 people (adult men and women) who for 4 years (2009-2013) recorded their daily consumption of Fruits & Vegetables. Regularly during this period they have also answered questionnaires about their welfare.
Scientists have found that people who consumed a significant amount of fruits & vegetables daily were happier than others. The "peak" of well-being and happiness is achieved with the use of 8 servings of Fruit & Vegetables a day, 720 gr.
What attribute? the hypothesis by scientists reported that the action of antioxidants is key, substances which Fruits & Vegetables are extremely rich. Previous studies had already demonstrated a link between carotenoids and optimism, an attitude which in turn represents the psychological well-being and happiness.
