To further strengthen its presence, PromPerú launched the first nationwide campaign to promote Peruvian avocados in China.
Peruvian avocado exports to China are growing rapidly. In 2024, sales reached USD 50 million, and by mid-2025 they had already surpassed USD 54 million — with projections of up to 30% annual growth, according to PromPerú. The country is now the world’s second-largest avocado producer and China’s top supplier, accounting for 78% of imports with more than 38,000 tonnes shipped.
This success is attributed to reliable exporters, strong logistics, and improved transport links — notably the opening of the Port of Chancay in 2024, which cut transit time to China from 35 to 24 days, boosting Peru’s competitiveness.
To further strengthen its presence, PromPerú launched the first nationwide campaign to promote Peruvian avocados in China. The initiative included in-store and online activations across major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Dalian, as well as collaborations with leading e-commerce and retail channels. These actions reached over 140,000 consumers, boosted visibility on social media with millions of interactions, and contributed to a 50% market price increase for Peruvian avocados.
