Michelin has launched a service towards the transport sector

A service offer which allows better maintenance efficiency on truck tires.

Michelin offers its service via an Internet platform and to its sales department. A range of services is offered, costs from 1 to 9 euros per truck per year. "The gains can be up to 4 times higher than the investment," according to OEM.

Among the services offered: an application "maintenance book" called TireLog, called an iCheck application to measure several parameters (pressure, tread depth of the tread, appearance) to trigger maintenance operations at the right time. Finally, iManage, a tire logged equipped with an RFID chip that allows to collect data and thus anticipate operations."The correct tire pressure is the assurance of the lowest consumption of the vehicle and its good condition. One third of truck breakdowns in Europe are related to tires. And in 90% of cases, this is an inflation problem. "
