Biviana Riveiro, executive director of ProDominicana, highlighted the success achieved in the business rounds, where a record number of purchase intentions were obtained.
The Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana) and the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santo Domingo (CCPSD) celebrated the results obtained in the business rounds of the 6th edition of HUB Cámara Santo Domingo 2024. The event generated business intentions for more than US$180.7 million with international buyers, consolidating itself as the most relevant multi-sector fair in the Caribbean.
Biviana Riveiro, executive director of ProDominicana, highlighted the success of the business rounds, where a record number of purchase intentions were achieved. This reflects the confidence of international markets in Dominican products and the precision in the organization of the business meetings. Riveiro also highlighted the participation of 140 buyers from 35 markets, who connected with 178 national exporters, doubling the number of international buyers compared to previous editions and exceeding expectations with a 43% growth in the projected business amounts.
Riveiro stressed the importance of this success, as it allows ProDominicana to offer personalized follow-up to ensure that these intentions materialize and strengthen the country's exports. Among the products most in demand are fruits, vegetables, cigars, food, cosmetics, plastics, cocoa, coffee, textiles and chemicals. The markets with the greatest interest include countries such as Costa Rica, Spain, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, Martinique, Guyana, the United States, Cuba and Curaçao.
ProDominicana also highlighted the participation of 20 MSMEs with high export potential, focused on sectors such as agro-industry, manufacturing, fruits, vegetables, jewelry and textiles.
On the other hand, Lucile Houellemont, president of the CCPSD, said that this edition of the HUB Cámara Santo Domingo exceeded all expectations, highlighting the growing interest of the Dominican business community in topics such as innovation and international expansion. Houellemont assured that the HUB Cámara has consolidated its position as the key multi-sector event in the Caribbean, and that they will continue working to strengthen its relevance in the regional business calendar.
During the event, business rounds were held with national buyers, generating more than US$18 million in business intentions, in addition to 27 specialized talks and panels. The closing of the event included a networking cocktail, where attendees were able to expand their networks and explore new business opportunities.
