The New Zealand avocado is in great shape

Records of sales and production for avocados in New Zealand.

NZ Avocado , the organization of producers , announces that the area harvested , packaged and sold 7 million trays during the 2014/15 season. The previous record was in 2011/12 with 6.1 million trays.

This new record is due to increased production but also by a growing demand in the Asian emerging markets ( Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia). Australia remains the largest export market with 3.2 million trays , Asia as a whole has purchased 1.3 million trays, almost double the 2011/12 season.
