Decline of 12% of Chilean kiwifruit exports

In Chile, kiwifruit exports, from the beginning of the season to mid-September 2019, are down by 12% compared to the same period of the previous season.
According to a report from the Kiwi Committee of Chile, based on Expordata-ASOEX data, exports from the beginning of the season to mid-September amount to 150 550 tonnes of fresh kiwifruit, or 12% less than the same period in 2018 (171,519 tons).
Europe remains the main destination of the Chilean kiwifruit with 45,134 tonnes received, or -24% compared to the previous season. Then, in 2nd position Far East with 36,792 tons, an increase of 7% compared to the same period in 2018.
Then in 3rd position Latin America with 31 397 tons, a decrease of 4%. In 4th position, North America (United States and Canada) with 20,678 tonnes, a decrease of 20%. In 5th position, Russia with 10 837 tonnes, a decrease of 9%. Finally, the Middle East with 5,713 tons, a decrease of 19%.
