Cherries remain Chile’s leading fruit export, with the nut sector up 59% by July 2025.
Chilean exports are on track for a record-breaking year, with fresh fruit once again playing a central role in the country’s trade performance.
According to the latest Monthly Trade Report from the Undersecretariat of International Economic Relations (SUBREI), Chile’s foreign shipments between January and July 2025 reached US$ 60,961 million in goods and US$ 1,816 million in services — the highest values ever recorded for this period. Overall, exports grew 5.7% year-on-year for goods and 13.3% for services.
Within this strong performance, fresh fruits contributed US$ 6,041 million, marking a 3.3% increase compared with the same period in 2024. Cherries continue to lead Chile’s fruit basket, supported by rising demand for plums, kiwis, avocados, apples, pears, nectarines, lemons, cranberries, pomegranates, sarsaparilla, and clementines.
The nut sector showed exceptional momentum, climbing 59% to US$ 463 million thanks to steady growth in hazelnuts, walnuts, almonds, and chestnuts.
These results underline Chile’s competitive edge as a strategic supplier in Asia, Europe, and North America. With cherries leading the way and other categories like nuts and kiwifruit gaining ground, the sector is expected to remain a pillar of Chile’s export economy through the remainder of 2025.
