Excellent performance for citrus exports in 2023. The volume exported reached 1.95 million tonnes of citrus fruit and the value USD 1.11 billion (TRY 34.5 billion).
According to local media reports, the Aegean Association of Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters announced that Turkey exported USD 1.11 billion (TRY 34.5 billion) worth of citrus fruit in 2023, up 23% on the previous year. The volume of citrus fruit exported in 2023 was 1.95 million tonnes, a very slight increase on the 1.94 million tonnes exported in 2022.
Mandarins remained the leading product in Turkish citrus exports in 2023, with a value of USD 577 million, followed by lemons with USD 355 million, oranges with USD 112 million and grapefruit with USD 68 million.
In terms of countries of destination: Russia (USD 428 million), Iraq (USD 181.5 million), Ukraine (USD 101 million), Poland (USD 57 million), Romania (USD 49 million), Serbia (USD 30 million), Bulgaria (USD 26 million), Saudi Arabia (USD 19 million), Belarus (USD 15 million) and Moldavia (USD 14 million).
