Turkish olive oil at conquest of the United States

The event, which runs from June 29 to July 1, is one of the most important agro-food sector in North America. The national group promoting Turkish Olive is determined to increase its market share in the United States, where about a third of their exports was realized in 2012-2013.

The number of trees planted in Turkey increased from 90 to 170 millions in the last 15 years. The production of olive oil is expected to increase in the future and this year's production is expected to be 650 000 tons.

It is not only for olive oil, but also table olives that set Turkey. The United States, which are the biggest importers of olive and olive oil in the world, is at the 5th place among the largest importers of Turkish table olives.

Turkish representative will also attend the seminar presented by the Executive Director of the International Olive Council on the 2nd day of the fair.
