Kazakhstan boosts citrus imports by 15,000 tons

Kazakhstan imported 51,095.4 tonnes of citrus fruit, including 44,356.7 tonnes of mandarins in the period January-October 2023 (Photo: jngogo.en.made-in-china.com).
According to local media, statistics from the Ministry of Finance's National Revenue Committee reveal that in the first 10 months of 2023 the country imported 51,095.4 tonnes of citrus fruit, worth USD 34.5 million.
This represents an increase of 15,882.5 tonnes over the same period in 2022.
Over the period January to October 2023, mandarins accounted for 44,356.7 tonnes (29,965.4 tonnes in 2022), mainly from China (20,002 tonnes), Pakistan (17,319 tonnes) and Turkey (5,945 tonnes). Oranges accounted for 6,738.7 tonnes (5,681 tonnes in 2022), mainly from Egypt (3,262 tonnes), Iran (2,281 tonnes) and Turkey (499 tonnes).
Statistics also show that in the first 10 months of 2023, Kazakhstan imported 874.5 tonnes of exotic fruits (dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, mangoes, etc.) from China, Peru, Pakistan, the Netherlands, Brazil and Thailand.
