Wholesale prices for pears in Lvov (Ukraine) are 2 times higher than last year

Based on the recent data, prices for pears in “Shuvar” wholesale market in Lvov (Ukraine) are 2 times higher comparing to the last year numbers. At the current moment prices for pears comprise approximately 1,55 – 1,66 EURO/kg, price depends on fruits size, quality and country of origin. This kind of price knock could be traced to dramatic currency rate rise in Ukraine, which triggered significant costs increase for imported fruits and vegetables. At the current moment, most of pears available in Ukraine are delivered from other countries, while local fruits were sold out in January 2015.
