The extent of damage varies by crop and area.
Polish production of fruits and vegetables has just been frozen, which will lead to major losses.
In mid-April, several regions of Poland recorded frosts which will cause a significant decrease in production. These jellies hit the productions of cherries, apples, pears, plums and red fruits (currants, raspberries, strawberries).
According to the Polish Fruit and Vegetable Association, the extent of the damage varies according to the product but remains important. For cherries, in some areas losses are estimated at 90%. For apples, depending on the area, losses are estimated at 30-40% and 60-70%.
