Peruvian agro-exports grow 11% in the first quarter of 2024

In the first quarter of 2024, Peru's agro-export sector grew by 11%, with sales from the coast, highlands and jungle increasing by 6.7%, 25.8% and 40.1% respectively. Peru's regional exports reached a value of $13.166 billion in the first quarter of the year, marking an increase of 4.8% compared to the same period in 2023, according to the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Elizabeth Galdo.
 
Galdo highlighted that 11 regions had an outstanding performance in their exports: Puno with an increase of 247%, Apurímac with 50%, Loreto with 44%, Huánuco with 39%, Madre de Dios with 23%, Moquegua and Pasco with 12% each, La Libertad and Tacna with 9%, Ica with 2% and Amazonas with a slight growth of 0.1%.
