Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of Ecuador meets Chilean agricultural authorities

In order to analyze possibilities for the development of fruit trade between Chile and Ecuador, a meeting was held last week between Ronald Bown, President of the Association of Chilean Fruit Exporters (ASOEX), Miguel Canala-Echeverría, General Manager of ASOEX, Bernardo Manzano, Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of Ecuador and Óscar Torre, the Undersecretary of Commerce of Ecuador.

Bown commented that Ecuador is the second most important market for Chilean fresh fruits in Latin America, after Colombia. In the 2020/21 season, Chile sent 76.776 tons of fresh fruit to Ecuador.
Currently, Chile supplies Ecuadorian market with pears, apples, table grapes, kiwis, cherries, nectarines, peaches, Asian pears and pomelos.
