Russia to import more Latin American apples and pears this season

Russia will increase imports of apples and pears from countries such as Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Turkey, China, Moldova, South Africa, Serbia and Lebanon this year, according to Russian media.

 

 

 

Although the quantity of imported pears is high, their price will remain constant until autumn.

 

 

 

As for cherries, Uzbekistan has made the first shipments of this fruit to the Russian market. Further deliveries from Turkey, Serbia, Azerbaijan, Moldova and also from Russian producers are expected in the next two weeks.

 

 

 

At the beginning of the stone fruit season, Turkey stands out as the main supplier. It is followed by Uzbekistan, Iran, China, Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan. This year, the season for peaches and nectarines started a little earlier than usual.

 

 

 

As for apricots, smaller quantities are currently being received from Turkey, which has led to an increase in their prices. However, a reduction in costs is expected with the increased supply of apricots from Uzbekistan and other markets.
