Report of the 2011 Spanish exports

2011 was touched by the crisis of the E. Coli disease that caused a general decline in consumption of fruit and vegetables in Europe.
Spanish exports of fruit and vegetables rose by 6% until May, with a total of 4,367 million Euros. The E. coli crisis has stymied this positive trend. Exports fell by 7% (4,189 million Euros) From june to december.
Exports represent 10.4 million tons that is 10% more than in 2010. Vegetables’ export in 2011 amounted to 3,518 million € (-3%) and to 4.2 million tons (14%), export of fruit to 5 038 million € (1%) and to 6.2 million tons (7%).
Spanish exports was dedicated to 93% for the European Union with Germany, France and the UK as main beneficiaries. Exports to Germany fell of 3% in 2011 (€ 1 971 million), those to France of 7% (1 618 million €), exports to the UK rose by 2% (1145 million €).
