The region of Murcia has increased its production of lettuce

13% of all the lettuce grown in the European Union come from the region of Murcia.
7.5% increase in the production of lettuce.
Production of 370,451 tons of lettuce, or +7.5% over the previous year, according to the assessment made ??by the statistical services and agricultural associations.
Murcia is the first region for the production of lettuce with 40% of the national total, followed by Andalusia which reaches 35%. Regarding 2013 Harvest: Iceberg variety represents 81% of the total, Baby Little and Gem varieties 12%, the Romana variety 4%, the Lollo Rosso variety 3%.
