Russians have increased their consumption of fruit

According to the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, fruit consumption increased in Russia.
Consumption per capita amounted to 52.7 kg per year in 2009.
The Russians consumed an average of 10.3 kg of apples, 6.2 kg of citrus fruit, 5.6 kg of bananas, 3.5 kg of pears, 2.6 kg of grapes, and the rest in various fruits.
Russian consumers prefer: apples (40% of Russians prefer apples and other fruit), bananas (31%), oranges (28%), grapes (22%), pears (21%).
Other fruits are purchased regularly but in lesser amounts: apricots, peaches, watermelons, tangerines, grapefruits, lemons, plums, pineapple and kiwi fruit (7 to 18%). Mangoes and avocados are the least appreciated fruit (less than 4%).
