French cauliflower production for 2023/24 (June 2023 to May 2024) is estimated at 195,143 tonnes, down 13% on the previous season (Photo: lesfruitsetlegumesfrais.com).
Although cauliflower planted areas for the 2023/24 campaign are almost stable compared to 2022/23, production is estimated at -13% compared to the previous campaign.
A publication of Agreste Conjoncture, issued by the French Ministry of Agriculture, announces that French cauliflower production for 2023/24 (June 2023 to May 2024), based on data as at December 1, 2023, is estimated at 195,143 tonnes.
This represents a variation of -13% on the previous campaign and -17% on the 2018-2022 average. Persistent rainfall in November severely limited production.
For this 2023/24 campaign, cauliflower acreage reached 11,354 hectares, +0.3% on the previous campaign and -20% on the 2018-2022 average.
From June 2023 to October 2023, France exported 7,200 tons (+42% over 1 year) and imported 30,200 tons (+11% over 1 year) of cauliflower and broccoli.
