Pomegranates: to each consumer, different caliber

 

Pomegranate exports are in three sizes: large, medium, small. The first importing country, Belarus, prefers large fruits, while Germany, second on the list, imports smaller calves. The countries of Eastern Europe, meanwhile, buy mainly medium caliber. The packaging of the fruits is therefore made according to the requirements of the consumers.

 

Antalya is one of the Turkish regions where the most beautiful Hicaz variety pomegranates are produced. This season starts with good prices, much better than last year (50% more) because production is expected to be lower than the previous season, due to adverse weather conditions.

 

Although Russia has finally opened its borders, though partially, Turkey continues to diversify its markets.
