Sale by Smurfit Kappa of its branch Solid Board (compact cardboard) becomes Solidus Solutions

 The Smurfit Kappa Group (42,000 employees) sold its Solid Board activities (fibreboard) Benelux, England, France and Norway, to the German investment group Aurelius AG (Munich).

Since 22 June 2015, these companies continue to operate under their new name SOLIDUS SOLUTIONS. The solid board packaging (solid Board) are mainly used in the food sector: Meat & Poultry, Fish, Fruit & Vegetables.

SOLIDUS SOLUTIONS has 4 paperboard mills in the Netherlands (Bad Nieuweschans, Oude Pekela, Hoogkerk, Coevorden) and 4 processing companies in Oude Pekela, Bergen op Zoom (Netherlands), Hoogstraten (Belgium), Corby (England) and sales offices in France and Norway. With annual revenues of € 250 million and employing about 850 people.The name of SOLIDUS SOLUTIONS was selected carefully.

SOLIDUS is Latin for strong, robust, authentic, reliable and safe. Thus referring directly to the product: Solid Board.  With a new name and a new logo, the company continues to pursue its goal of creating and proposing sustainable and innovative solutions.
