Not enough seasonal workers for crops in Germany.
German professionals are facing a shortage of seasonal workers according to the survey of the VSSE (Verband Süddeutscher Spargel- und Erdbeeranbauer e.V.) association of asparagus and strawberry producers from southern Germany.
VSSE (Verband Süddeutscher Spargel- und Erdbeeranbauer e.V.) believes that the results of its survey are alarming. With more than 1,000 asparagus and strawberry farms, the survey shows that 90% of asparagus and strawberry producers face a shortage of seasonal workers.
"The situation has become much worse this season, part of the harvest could not even be done, action is urgently needed at the political level, an accelerated visa procedure for workers in the Balkans and Ukraine is absolutely necessary. for us, "says Simon Schumacher, director of VSSE.
