Estimations for citrus season 2012/2013

Decline in production of 5.74% for all Spanish citrus (mandarins -13.1%, -lemons 12.1%, oranges 1.97% and grapefruit 3.92%).
Citrus industry professionals have released their forecasts published by AILIMPO.
The production of citrus in Spain will be 6.10 million tons for the 2012/2013 season, a decrease of 5.74% compared to the previous season. The deficit will be 372,000 tons in total.
Mandarin production will reach 2.08 million tons, a decrease of 13.1% compared to 2011/2012. Clementines
will fall 17.6% to 1.43 million tons, satsumas will increase from 46.56% to 192,000 tons.
Orange production will reach 3.10 million tons, an increase of 1.97% compared to 2011/2012.
Production of lemons reach 870,000 tons, down 12.1% compared to last year, the production of grapefruit will reach 53,000 tonnes, an increase of 3.92%.
